Electrosensitivity
Our daily exposure to electromagnetic fields has increased rapidly in recent years, particularly with the deployment of 4G and 5G antennas in our environment and the proliferation of Wi-Fi routers and cell phones in our homes. These electromagnetic fields differ from natural electromagnetic fields in terms of their wavelength, intensity, and modulation. Some people find that they develop a sensitivity to these electromagnetic fields, which manifests as symptoms they did not experience in the past, such as insomnia or loss of deep sleep, chronic fatigue, attention disorders, headaches, tinnitus, and others.
Since these types of symptoms can also stem from other causes — such as chemical sensitivity, food intolerance, or certain medical conditions — it is important, in order to take appropriate action, to first determine whether exposure to electromagnetic fields is the actual cause. This first step involves assessing your exposure — particularly that which occurs while you sleep — and then reducing your exposure for a period of one week. If the symptoms clearly subside, this confirms that exposure to electromagnetic fields is a cause. The next step is to assess your sensitivity and develop strategies to keep your exposure within limits that are tolerable for you. This may involve simple measures, rearranging your bedroom, or more extensive steps, depending on your sensitivity and preferences.
I offer a support service to help people who have developed an intolerance to electromagnetic fields assess their exposure and find appropriate solutions. To this end, I draw on my knowledge of electromagnetic field physics and natural health care — as a physicist and homeopath — as well as my personal experience with sensitivity to electromagnetic fields. To assess your exposure, I use detectors for electromagnetic fields, electrostatic fields, and magnetic fields. This service, to the extent that it does not fall within homeopathy, is billed at the same rate but separately because it is not covered by complementary insurance.
